Introducing some of the key people who have helped Motors Insurance Company Limited become one of the leading specialist underwriters to the motor industry.

Gary Whitelam

Gary has been part of the MICL team for 14 years, having joined the company in 1996. He is the Managing Director of Motors Insurance Company Limited and responsible for managing the Underwriting and Actuarial teams.

Gary has a BA in Economics and is a Chartered Accountant and ACII qualified. Prior to joining the group, Gary spent 10 years with Coopers & Lybrand in Leeds and Nairobi, Kenya.

Mark Holley

Head of Underwriting, Mark joined MICL in 2005 and is currently responsible for underwriting all of MICL's business outside of North America. Mark has a degree in Banking Insurance & Finance and is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute. Prior to joining MICL he spent 25 years in the general insurance market, in a number of senior underwriting roles.

Dave Kelly

Head of Actuarial for MICL, Dave joined the company in 1993. His department is responsible for all product pricing, loss reserving and Actuarial modelling work (including Solvency II support). Dave has a BSc in Management Sciences, an MSc in Computer Science and is ACII qualified. Prior to joining MICL Dave spent 5 years as a Reinsurance Underwriter in London with the Cologne Reinsurance Company.
